A meeting runs an hour. Somebody gives an update on Safety Town or the Key Clubs, somebody reports what came in and what went out, and then the room argues cheerfully about what to do next. That is the whole thing.

You will be introduced once, by first name, and then left alone to listen. Nobody will ask you to sign anything and nobody will ask you for money. If you never come back, that is fine and it happens.

What it costs if you do join

Kiwanis International and the Florida District charge annual dues per member, and the club adds a small amount of its own. The treasurer will tell you the exact figure at the meeting, because it is set by the district and it changes.

The real cost is the calendar: two evenings a month, plus a Saturday here and there when Safety Town is being set up or the scholarship committee is reading applications.

Who is already in the room

Business owners, retirees, a couple of teachers, people who have lived in Coral Springs for thirty years and people who moved here last year. The club sponsors Key Clubs at five high schools, so a few members are there because their own kids went through one.
